How are TheraSpecs different from other blue light glasses?
Most glasses marketed as blocking blue light only focus on a narrow band of light and also typically do not filter as much blue light when compared with TheraSpecs. Choosing from our lineup of blue-blocking lens options is going to give you the specialized protection you need for whatever lighting gives you trouble.
- TheraSpecs Flex is our recommendation for people who want excellent screen or computer glasses with a minimal tint and/or if you want to use them to combat headlights while driving at night. We also suggest Flex be added to a comprehensive light management toolkit if you’re living with mild light sensitivity and want a lens that may help take the edge off harsh light.
- Contrast HEV is also an excellent choice for screen use, as it filters out high-energy visible light, which our eyes struggle to focus well.
- If you’re living with more prominent symptoms of light sensitivity (such as the result of migraine or post-brain injury), we recommend you add FL-Pro to your light management plan for extra protection against harsh blue light. In fact, it filters up to 25 times more of the problematic wavelengths when compared with clear- or nearly-clear blue light lenses.1 FL-Blend provides similarly targeted shielding, but trades some protection for a softer plum-colored tint. Both styles target blue light near 480nm to keep you protected against screens, fluorescents and LEDs, and other artificial sources.
- Designed to block all disruptive blue light, our Sleep lenses specifically target the wavelengths that may affect melatonin production and sleeping patterns. Wear them for 2-3 hours before your bedtime so that you may maximize their sleep-enhancing benefits.
