What's the difference between single vision and multifocal prescriptions?
Single vision prescriptions (SVP) have one Rx strength throughout each lens. They can be made for general, intermediate, or near-distance use.
Multifocal prescriptions have multiple strengths in each lens. These are typically made as lined bifocals or as no-line progressives, with general-distance at the top of the lens and near-distance at the bottom.
Whatever your Rx type is, we'd be happy to make you a custom pair of TheraSpecs!
For any prescription, we'll need your pupillary distance and a current copy of your Rx.
For multifocal prescriptions, we'll need another measurement called segment height: the number that marks where your prescription strength changes.
