Where did FL-41 come from?

FL-41 is the tried and true tint for people with fluorescent light sensitivity since it was developed in the 1980s by researchers trying to address the negative impacts of fluorescent light on many people.

While their initial published study focused on the lenses' effects on children with migraine, they quickly discovered that the wavelengths it filtered (480-520nm) soothed adults, too.1 Since then FL-41 has been used in clinical studies for different types of light sensitivities and is also frequently recommended by neurologists, physical therapists, and other medical professionals for managing problematic light.
